Design notes:

  1. Decide how the room is used before you fall in love with a finish. 

  2. Storage is a design problem, not an afterthought. Trays, spices, mixers, and trash need a place or they take over the counters. 

  3. Inset, overlay, and frameless each change the character of the room. See them in person before you choose. 

  4. Painted and stained wood behave differently depending on light. You can bring a sample home to see how you feel about a color throughout the day.  Light affects perception.   

  5. Timeline matters. Stock can move quickly. Fully custom is typically 8–12 weeks to build after you approve the design.
